Planning a Family Trip across the USA

If you are planning a family trip across the United States, then you are in for the time of your life.  From sandy beaches to sprawling cities, rocky mountain ranges to grassy plains and valleys, dry deserts to beautiful wetlands, the United States has it all.
When planning your trip across the US, the first thing you need to think about is how you will travel.  You can drive cross-country in your car and stay at hotels along the way; you can rent an RV and drive across, stopping to sleep in the RV; or you can take buses, trains and planes.  Your decision will depend on your budget, so do some research and compare prices.  If you truly want to explore every part of the country, then driving is one of the best options -just make sure you schedule a lot of time for your trip.
Once you’ve decided upon the mode of transportation, you’ll have to decide where to go.  Some of the must-see places in the United States are Washington, DC - the nation’s capital, jam-packed with museums and sites that are fun for the whole family; the sprawling city of New York with it’s Broadway shows, shopping and Statue of Liberty; the sandy beaches on the West coast and rocky beaches in the East; the farms and history of New England; the Rocky Mountains of Colorado; Yellowstone and Yosemite National parks; The Hoover Dam; The Grand Canyon; Las Vegas and more.
If you are travelling with your children, then you may want to head to one of the exciting theme parks or water parks throughout the country including Walt Disney World, Disney Land, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, Sea World and more.  You will also find children’s museums, science museums, zoos and aquariums in most of the major cities of the United States.
You should also do some research to find out if there are any festivals going on during your trip such as Mardi Gras, film festivals, music festivals or barbeque festivals, which are all quite common around the country.
Sit down and make a schedule of all the places you want to visit depending on the length of your trip.  If you can’t fit them all in this time, then you’ll just have to take another trip!
